Transfusion Medicine Pathologist Faculty Position Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey. Position Summary: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in the Division of Transfusion Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH). The successful candidate will provide advanced transfusion and blood banking services, teach medical students and residents, and engage in research within the New Jersey health system. The minimum salary for this position is $250,000 per year, with compensation dependent on educational background, skills, and professional experience. Responsibilities Provide transfusion medicine and blood banking services across Rutgers, RWJUH, and RWJBarnabas Health partners. Deliver complex transfusion consultations, stem cell collection and infusion, cellular therapy for adult and pediatric patients, apheresis, and support for complex coagulation conditions. Collaborate with institutional leadership, physician colleagues, and nursing teams to ensure high‑quality patient care. Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and in departmental conferences and grand rounds. Contribute to departmental quality initiatives and process improvements. Promote the program regionally and nationally at academic conferences. Participate in call coverage as assigned by the Chair of Pathology. Engage in scholarly and research activities. Requirements MD, DO, or MBBS degree required. Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey. Upon hire, eligible to obtain a CDS and/or DEA if required. Board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine by the American Board of Pathology.
