Moses Lake 1109 Juniper Dr. Moses Lake, WA 98837, USA Description Position Purpose BusDriverCustodianisresponsibleforensuringthechildrenaretransportedinsafe,timelyandappropriate manner.TheBusDriverisresponsibleforthesupervisionofchildrenonthebusalongwiththesupportof the Floater/Bus position.Keep building in clean and orderly condition performing routine maintenance activities, notifyingsupervisorsof needed repairs.Keep premises neatly groomed and safe by cleaning snow and debris from sidewalks, etc. Distinguishing Characteristics Inspire Development Centersprovideearly Childhood Education (ECE) and social services to 3,110 children incenter-based and home-basedsetting, at more than 25 Child Development Centers (CDC) throughout the State of Washington.At these sites, Inspire employs over 1,000staff on a $52 million annualbudget.Inspireprovides theseservicesundervariousfederalandstatefunded programswith differing regulations and stipulations, which must be coordinated and adhered to, including, but not limitedto:RegionalHeadStart(RHS),MigrantSeasonalHeadStart(MSHS),EarlyChildhoodEducation and Assistance Program (ECEAP),and Early Head Start (EHS).The organizationisrequired tomeet an annual quota of non-federal share (in-kind) funds.A large majority of children’s first language is Spanish.Over the past 40 years, Inspire has strategically and incrementally increased its capacity to address the rapidly changing needs of its families and communities. Supervisory and Other Relationships BusDriverCustodianreportstotheCenterManager,andworkscloselywithTransportationStaff,Center Staff, Parents, and Children. The Bus Driver is the final authority and responsible for the health,safetyandwellbeingof all bus occupantswhileinroute.Establishes andmaintainsbus route incoordination with Family ServiceWorkerforreviewandapprovalofCenterManager.Runsfixedroutesaswritten;does notmakesunauthorizedchangestoroutesorstops.Limitcellphoneusageforemergency purposes and otheragenciesprescribed protocol. Responsiblefor ensuringgeneral maintenance ofbusesandensurea clean and hygienic environmentkeepthebusinworkingorder.Responsibletomaintainandcompleteattendance log, mileage buslogandmaintenance log daily. Provides training to Bus Monitor(s) throughout the year as needed. Responsiblefor providingin-servicetrainingto staff,parentsandconductEmergency Bus Evacuation.Participateinlocalcentermeetingstoprovideorientationonbussafety/protocols to include safety drills and evacuation plans. Responsible to provide/receive written/oral information between center staff and parent participants.Immediatelyreportsincidents,accidents, or unusual situations (i.e.child abuse reports,etc.)thatcouldordidplaceachildatriskofinjuryandwillingand abletodescribesuch incidents in writing. Conductsapre-tripinspectionofthevehicledriveneverydayandreportsuspectedmechanical problems at once. Conduct a thorough post-trip inspection for children or other items left on board at the conclusion of each trip. Responsibletosweep,vacuum,mop,dust,clean,anddisinfectclassroomssinks,restrooms,andcommon areas.Responsiblefor disposalof all garbage and disinfect wastebaskets or garbage cans daily.Keep outside equipment clean and in good/safe working conditions, (i.e.lawn mowers, shop vacuums, extractor, etc.). Strip, wax, and polish floors and shampoo carpets according to center schedule. Responsibletokeepsidewalks,parkinglot,andplaygroundareassafefromhazards.Responsible that all doors and windows are securely locked before closing center.Discuss unique concerns offacilityandimmediatelyreportsany unsafe equipment toSafetyCommitteeChairpersonand/or Center Manager. Responsibleto replaceoutsidelightbulbs,exitlights,brokengutters,washingwindows,minor exterior center repairs, plumbing, and painting.Check and change furnace filters as needed. Lawnmaintenanceasneededduringgrowingseason.Toincludecuttinglawn,watering,weed control, and center landscaping. Be familiar with Hazardous Materials Program and ensure that all chemicals and cleaning suppliesandmaterialsarestoredandlockedinachildproofcabinetorstoreroom.Responsible to prepare andmaintaininginventories of janitorial supplies, reporting and requesting to the Center Manager, those that need to bepurchased. Showsinterestinfurtheringprofessionalgrowthbyattendingstaffmeetings,workshops, trainings, and seminars. Maintainsconfidentialityofprogramandclientrelatedinformationatalltimes. Performallotherdutiesasassigned. Minimum Qualifications Incumbentsarerequiredtodemonstrateknowledgeandabilitiesintheseareas: Ability to read write and communicate in English and/or Spanish to fulfill the responsibilities of this position; ExcellentinfollowingSafetyPolicyandProcedures; Mustbeabletounderstandandfollowwrittenandoralinstructionsandprocedureswithout constant supervision; Understandingoftheinterrelationshipsbetweenservicesandsystems; Flexibletowork differentschedules,maybesplitshiftand/orwithvariousbusroutesdepending on availability of shifts; Strongcustomerservicefocus; Abilitytolearnnewtasksquicklyandefficiently; Abilitytohandlemultipletaskssimultaneouslyandmeetdeadlines; Abilitytoworkwithculturallydiversepopulation;and Theseskillsandabilitiesaretypicallyacquiredthroughacombinationofeducationandtrainingandseven (7)years ofregulardrivingexperience.Thecombinationofabilities,experienceandtrainingwillprovidethe competence to perform the work of the position. Class C passenger endorsement (C/P2) is required to operate vehicles designed to carry 16 or more persons (including the driver), and weighing 26,000 lbs. or less. School Bus (S) endorsement: All school bus endorsements are connected to a vehicle Class B or C, depending on the weight of the vehicle: Required for drivers who operate school buses to transport students to or from school and for school sponsored events. A passenger endorsement (P) is also required for a school bus endorsement to be valid. Class B school bus endorsement (B/P1/S) is required to operate a school bus weighing 26,001 lbs. or more. Class C school bus endorsement (C/P2/S) is required to operate a school bus weighing 26,000 lbs. or less. Air Brake (K) restriction: This is an automatic restriction. If a driver has successfully passed the necessary written and driving tests for air brake equipped vehicles, this endorsement will be removed. Drivers who do not pass these tests are restricted on the CDL to non-air brake vehicles.
