Energy Management Systems Technician

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an Energy Management Systems Technician in the Baltimore metro area to install, program, and maintain EMS controls for commercial refrigeration and HVAC applications.
- Deliver energy savings for customers through optimized control system performance
- Support business operations with reliable monitoring and control of critical systems
- Reduce maintenance costs through proactive system management
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives with effective energy management Responsibilities
- Install energy management systems in commercial and industrial facilities
- Program and configure EMS platforms for optimal energy efficiency
- Troubleshoot control system hardware, software, and communication issues
- Conduct preventive maintenance on EMS equipment and sensors
- Analyze energy data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with customers on system upgrades and enhancements
- Provide technical training to facility staff on EMS operation
- Document all installations, configurations, and service activities Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience with building automation or energy management systems
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC control strategies
- Proficiency with EMS programming languages and software platforms
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Nice-to-Haves
- Manufacturer certifications for EMS platforms such as Emerson or Danfoss
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- Technical degree or certification in HVAC, controls, or electrical systems
- Experience with energy benchmarking and reporting tools Compensation & Logistics
