Unit L&D # of L&D Beds 16 LDRPs # of OR Suites 2 OB ORs # of triage beds 6 triage rooms # of Postpartum beds NA - we have LDRPs # of births per day, per year 1000 Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines? Yes Required Certifications BLS, Current EFM certification - prefer AWHONN but will accept others Common diagnoses/Types of patients level II maternity (down to 32 weeks GA) Experience or 'Must have' skills EFM interpretation, SVEs, IV starts, manage Magnesium Sulfate Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pitocin Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes and Yes Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Yes, OB Techs and front desk scheduler OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? on call 24/7, here most of the time RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Cpap, will start vent and transport out Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? RNs read EFM tracings EFM System Fetalink Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts, 4 week schedules Weekend Requirement 1 full weekend every 3 weeks Holiday Requirement 1 major/1 minor Is there a call or standby requirement? On call 18 hours/4 week schedule Floating Requirements No Scrub Color/Dress code Hospital laundered scrubs provided Unit/Department specific orientation Yes We use Cerner Power Chart Maternity for our EHR
