Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer (L2) to support a large-scale application rewrite initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, API automation, SQL/database validation, Git, and CI/CD pipelines .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright .
- Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing .
- Develop and execute REST API automation tests.
- Validate backend data using SQL and database testing .
- Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to define test strategies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Maintain automation code using Git and established branching strategies.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams on resolution.
- Contribute to automation framework enhancements, coding standards, and QA best practices.
- Explore and leverage AI-powered testing capabilities to improve automation efficiency and test coverage.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of hands-on QA automation experience.
- Strong Playwright experience Mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver .
- Experience designing reusable and scalable automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of automation design patterns and best practices.
- Strong experience with REST API testing/automation .
- Knowledge of JSON, methods, authentication, and API validation .
- Strong SQL skills with experience validating backend data across relational databases.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries for data verification.
- Strong knowledge of Git .
- Understanding of Feature Branching, GitFlow, Pull Requests, Merge Conflict Resolution, and Release Branching .
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
AI Skills Preferred
- Exposure to AI-assisted software testing and automation .
- Experience using AI tools to generate test cases, optimize automation scripts, or improve testing productivity.
- Familiarity with AI-powered QA platforms or LLMs is an added advantage.
Important: Candidates must be strong in Playwright automation and be comfortable with the final in-person interview requirement in Holmdel, NJ .
