Role Summary The Trade Foreman 2 supports construction activities for routine and non‑routine projects and ensures that planned work is performed efficiently and effectively by the crew. This position will personally complete tasks and supervise a crew as a working foreman. All activities support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Key Role Responsibilities – Core Own routine decisions, provide recommendations to supervisor, and refer exceptions. Career path: Superintendent 1. Demonstrate commitment to an injury‑free environment and mentor others in safety culture. Use tools to complete assigned tasks. Track and report units and labor hours, including timecard submission. Maintain proper care and appropriate number of tools and equipment. Lead and monitor crew safety and security procedures. Understand and achieve crew production goals. Establish crew sizes that align with production goals. Document key information such as activities, productions, and crew sizes. Communicate with suppliers and coordinate delivery of supplies to the jobsite. Maintain established quality levels. Coordinate other trade work associated with the assigned scope of work. Participate in safety activities such as toolbox talks, job hazard analysis, site analyses, and SIMS reporting. Read and understand plans, specifications, shop drawings, and coordination drawings. Provide on‑the‑job guidance and share subject matter expertise to support team member learning and development. Coordinate inspections for assigned scope of work. Participate in, document, and update punch lists. Key Role Responsibilities – Additional Core Manage subcontractor crews for portions of projects or a small project. Create, communicate, monitor, and achieve crew production goals. Coordinate work for larger crews and/or other trade foremen. Plan project components such as crew size, schedule, materials, meetings, and manpower. Utilize all aspects of construction project resources, including internal and external support. Create and implement safety plans and ensure compliance through training, toolbox talks, and communication with safety representatives. Control costs in production units through understanding variables such as project management system, task‑specific reports, and production costs. Support project quality assurance/quality control planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks. Apply and lead Lean principles and practices on the jobsite such as daily stand‑up meetings and pull planning. Assist with MOC (Materials and Other Costs) and equipment analysis. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources. Apply Lean processes and philosophy. Understand self‑perform and labor productivity. Understand specific trades and scopes of work. Understand means and methods of construction management. Intermediate layout skill. Intermediate crane flagging and rigging knowledge. Read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications. Acquire knowledge of productivity rates. Assess and optimize project productivity. Lead crews and achieve production goals. Build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally. Education High School Diploma or GED. Vocational/Technical degree in a related field (preferred). Experience 3+ years of commercial construction experience. 2+ years of field supervision experience. Working Environment Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. May require periods of travel. May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold). Must be willing to work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs. Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling. Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screen.
