Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Alaska

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 variable shifts with weekend coverage required; 60 guaranteed hours per two-week period; flexibility to float within scope as needed

Highlights:

• Level IV Trauma Center and Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and Epic charting system
• Labor and Delivery unit with 4 beds serving neonates, infants, and adult patient populations
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Facility-provided housing included during assignment (1-bedroom apartment, utilities covered)
• Free parking and business casual or any color scrubs accepted
• First-time travelers welcome with minimum 1 year of L&D experience

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Core competencies must include: vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section, fetal monitoring (external and internal), postpartum care, newborn assessment, breastfeeding support, couplet care, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, and epidural anesthesia management
• Preferred skills include: baby nurse/baby catcher experience, high-risk delivery assistance, use of IUPC, infant resuscitation, and phototherapy
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Willingness to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

• Housing is provided in 1-bedroom apartment; pets are not permitted
• Move-in available up to 72 hours before contract start; move-out within 24 hours after contract end

• Pre-start and orientation modules required (non-billable, completed via Workramp)
• Time-off requests must be submitted at time of application; limit requests to 7 days to avoid delays
• One scheduled call-off permitted per two-week period
