Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) – Home Health
Location: El Paso Texas
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN
Reports To: Licensed Occupational Therapist / Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) to provide high-quality therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The OTA will assist in implementing treatment plans to help patients regain independence in their daily living activities and improve overall function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions in patients’ homes based on the individualized treatment plan developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Assist patients in performing therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).

• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising OT.

• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve function and safety at home.

• Provide training in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology as needed.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with the OT and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

• Adhere to all applicable laws and ethical standards, including HIPAA and Medicare regulations.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Current certification and state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Texas.

• CPR certification.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Prior experience in home health or a similar setting preferred.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently while following treatment plans and safety protocols.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent travel to patient homes within a specified service area.

• Physically demanding work including patient transfers and use of therapeutic equipment.

• Must be comfortable working in varied home environments and flexible with scheduling.
