We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.What you’ll doThe primary function is to analyze prepared TEM lamellae using FEI/Thermo Fisher TEM tools with STEM imaging, EDX, and EELS techniques, and to prepare TEM lamellae using Thermo Fisher Helios Dual Beam FIB tools when TEM sample volume is low. This role is part of Lam Microscopy Services, supporting a large base of process engineers at Lam and handling a high volume of samples from multiple business units.Set up, operate, and maintain TEM tools using Lam best known methods (BKM).Handle sensitive customer samples appropriately and protect customer intellectual property (IP).Work with process engineers to understand how to locate regions of interest, properly process samples, interpret data, and troubleshoot when results do not meet expectations.Maintain the integrity of experiments and data to ensure valid results.Actively participate in developing new techniques to expedite sample processing.Share new learnings and developments with other team members through documentation, presentations, and training sessions.Collaborate effectively with process engineers.Foster a healthy and inclusive working environment.Maintain a professional atmosphere and cordial working relationships.Adhere to Lam’s Core Values.Work Schedule: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, day shift, Sunday through Thursday.Who we’re looking forPh.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of three years of related experience; or equivalent work experience.One or more years of hands-on TEM experience preferredProject management and problem-solving experience preferred.Good written and verbal communication skills to work with a large internal customer base.Experience creating technical documentation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced lab environment.TEM sample preparation experience using the FIB technique is a plus.Our commitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
