Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will embrace the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company. This role focuses on delivering superior quality in patient care while ensuring safety for patients and employees. Responsibilities include implementing treatment goals and interventions as established by the Physical Therapist, training patients in locomotion with assistive devices, and monitoring patient responses to treatment.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, and community re-entry training.
• Train patients in the use of orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
• Demonstrate proper safety protocols and use of modalities such as whirlpools and ultrasound.
• Document patient progress and educate patients and families on good body mechanics.
• Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines regarding treatment goals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited school.
• Current CAPTE certification.
• New graduates are welcome to apply; prior outpatient clinical experience is highly desired.
