This role works closely with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff to create a positive patient experience and successful surgical outcomes. Key Responsibilities Prepare and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures Maintain sterile technique throughout operative cases Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs during surgery Pass instruments and supplies efficiently to support operative flow Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and transport Perform surgical counts and support patient safety initiatives Clean and reset operating rooms between procedures Follow infection prevention and regulatory standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and perioperative staff to ensure excellent patient care Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential Experience: New graduates are encouraged to apply Previous surgical or operating room experience is welcomed but not required Certifications: Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain after hire) Schedule Full-Time | Operating Room Start Your Surgical Career at Gateway Whether you are beginning your healthcare journey or bringing previous OR experience, Gateway Regional Medical Center offers the opportunity to grow your skills, work with an experienced team, and make a meaningful impact on patient care every day.
