Assistant Kitchen Manager – Hot Chix
Location: Walled Lake, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.50/hour
Benefits: PTO, Health, Dental & Vision
About the Role
Hot Chix is looking for a dependable, hands-on Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead assigned shifts and ensure quality, speed, cleanliness, food safety, and customer service.
You will report to the Kitchen Manager and direct the kitchen team during your assigned shifts.
What We're Looking For
- Restaurant, QSR, fast-casual, or kitchen experience
- Supervisory or shift-lead experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Dependable, organized, professional, and accountable
- ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage assigned kitchen shifts
- Direct, coach, and support kitchen employees
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and speed of service
- Monitor food preparation, production, and product availability
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Control waste and follow food-cost procedures
- Handle opening/closing duties and shift checklists when assigned
- Address customer and operational issues promptly
- Communicate staffing, inventory, equipment, and other concerns to the Kitchen Manager
- Lead by example and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
Schedule & Availability
Full-time management position requiring flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Physical Requirements
Active, hands-on position requiring extended standing/walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and working around hot equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
