Distribution Systems Test Engineer Location : Lubbock, TX (Hybrid Schedule) Schedule : Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week Duration: Contract with Potential for Long-Term Opportunity Hourly Pay Rate: $48.00 - $50.00 System One is seeking a Distribution Systems Test Engineer to support electric distribution operations and testing activities across Texas. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing point-to-point testing of field and substation devices, ensuring proper communication and functionality between equipment and control systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, operations personnel, field crews, and control center staff to support the commissioning, testing, and maintenance of critical distribution infrastructure. This position offers hands-on exposure to advanced utility technologies and grid modernization projects. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute point-to-point testing of electric distribution and substation equipment.
• Schedule testing activities and collaborate with field crews and operational teams.
• Verify communication and functionality between field devices and control systems.
• Track, document, and report testing progress and results.
• Utilize Excel, PowerApps, and other tools to manage testing records and reporting.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and field personnel to resolve issues identified during testing.
• Support project implementation and system reliability initiatives.

• Coordinate testing schedules and logistics.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams.
• Execute and validate device testing activities.
• Track results, generate reports, and communicate project status.
• Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution as required.

• Hybrid work arrangement based in Lubbock, TX.
• Primarily office and control center environment.
• Collaborative team atmosphere with a mix of independent and team-based work.
• Occasional field visits and possible travel for training purposes.

• Exposure to advanced utility technologies, including SCADA and distribution management systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience supporting electric utility, telecommunications, or related infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of electric distribution systems.
• Experience coordinating testing activities and tracking project progress.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of utility communication systems.
• Troubleshooting experience within electric utility or infrastructure environments.
• Experience using PowerApps or similar reporting platforms.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Training & Onboarding Comprehensive onboarding and training will be provided. Candidates can expect approximately six months to become fully proficient in company-specific processes and procedures. Training may include collaboration with senior team members and potential travel for hands-on learning opportunities.
