Quality Technician

Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing, is seeking a Quality Technician to join their team. As a Quality Technician, you will be part of the manufacturing department supporting quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Quality Technician

Location: Decatur, TX

Pay Range: $20-$25/hr

Shift: 1st- 8am-5pm and 2nd- 3:15pm to 1:30am (1 opening on each shift) 

What's the Job?

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on first article and last article production parts, including AS9102 FAIRs (first article inspection reports)
• Prevent defective, non-conforming parts from reaching the customer
• Document non-conforming material and provide feedback for root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Review manufacturing records and prepare certificates of conformance (CoC) and dimensional inspection reports (CofD)
• Conduct quality audits to ISO9001:2015/AS9100D standards, prepare reports, and follow-up on findings

What's Needed?

• High school education or GED equivalency
• Good aptitude working in a precision machine shop environment
• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and interpreting drawings
• Experience using machine shop metrology and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, profilometers, and coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) is a plus
• Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
