Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer role located in Brookfield, MO. The Police Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, enforcing local, state, and federal laws, and conducting preliminary and follow-up criminal investigations. Daily duties include documenting incidents, collecting and preserving evidence, preparing reports, and testifying in court as needed. The role also involves engaging with community members, participating in crime prevention activities, and collaborating with other officers and agencies to promote public safety. Police Officers are expected to maintain high ethical standards, follow departmental policies and procedures, and remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of law enforcement practices, including experience or training as Police Officers and in Police procedures. Experience or training in handling Evidence, including proper collection, documentation, and preservation in accordance with legal standards. Skills related to Criminal Investigations, such as interviewing, report writing, and case follow-up to support successful prosecution. Understanding of general Law Enforcement principles, community policing, and applicable laws and regulations. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or degree in criminal justice or related field preferred. Ability to pass background checks, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and any required physical fitness or agility tests. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community members. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed; valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
