Temporary Legal File Clerk - Workers’ Compensation

POSITION SUMMARY:

Trean Corporation is seeking a temporary Legal File Clerk to join our corporate legal team. This will be a 6-month role to help organize the company’s workers’ compensation files. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing meaningfully to a collaborative team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Scan physical workers’ compensation claim files into our secure digital system.
• Accurately label and tag documents for easy retrieval.
• Organize digital files into claimant-specific folders according to established protocols.
• Review scanned documents for completeness and clarity, re-scanning as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all data privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with legal staff to resolve any missing or misfiled documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience handling workers’ compensation, claims management, or regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, while demonstrating superior organizational and technical skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and to effectively prioritize work; displays flexibility and creativity in managing intense and time-sensitive deadlines.
• High technological proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as other technology tools used within the insurance industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is located in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires the physical demands of a normal office position with some light lifting. This is a full-time position with benefits.
