Commercial Construction Project Manager

Location: Cary, NC

Compensation: $90,000–$120,000 + Bonuses + Benefits, commensurate with experience

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager on behalf of an established general contractor in the Cary/Raleigh market.

This is a hands-on PM role for someone who knows how to drive a project schedule, coordinate subcontractors, manage budgets, and keep projects moving from preconstruction through closeout.

Strong General Contractor experience is essential. The ideal candidate has personally owned project schedules and understands how to sequence and coordinate multiple trades—not simply work within a schedule developed by another GC.

What You'll Do

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop, maintain, and actively manage detailed project schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors and properly sequence trades to maintain project milestones
• Identify scheduling conflicts, delays, and critical-path issues and proactively develop solutions
• Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to keep projects moving
• Manage project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and financial performance
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontractor scopes
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
• Support estimating, scope reviews, budgeting, bid evaluation, and subcontractor buyout
• Lead project meetings and communicate directly with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Maintain accurate project information using construction management and scheduling software

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience
• Project Management experience with a General Contractor
• Strong, hands-on experience building and managing construction schedules
• Experience coordinating and sequencing multiple subcontractor trades
• Working knowledge of construction scheduling software; Primavera P6 experience is a plus
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scopes, budgets, and project financials
• Experience with estimating, budgeting, or preconstruction activities; full takeoff estimating expertise is not required
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Commercial renovation, remodel, tenant improvement, or similar project experience preferred
• Healthcare construction experience is a plus, but not required
