Business Analyst / B23 CoordinatorPart Time at office position. 25 hours per week, 2 days at office. Location: Hartford, CT Duration: 8 Months contractA bachelor's degree in business IT / Computer Science or a related field is standard, Agile, Business analysis, Data analysis skills, Jira, Microsoft Excel, Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing, Solid experience in writing SQL queries, Basic knowledge in generating process documentation.Duties and Responsibilities:Gather business requirements from users and translate into functional and technical specificationsDocument business processes and provide best practices recommendationsWork as a liaison between the business and IT (QA, test, developers)Translate business needs into effective requirements statementsAssess the business impact of requested and ongoing systems improvementsParticipate on project teams to ensure that implementation satisfies the business need and maximizes process and system integrationParticipates in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement process and system improvementsWorks with stakeholders to identify improvements and assess their relative priorityDetermines the appropriate course of action for new requests: immediate resolution through existing functionality, support request for quick implementation, or as part of a larger projectUtilize experience in business processes for IT systems; business case development; requirements gathering; gap analysis; process mapping; solution design; and supportActively manages customer expectations and communicates status of pending projectsTracks backlog of requests and works with customer to incorporate these into subsequent projects based on priorityRequirements:Bachelors degree 7 years experience as business analyst focused on enterprise applications and IT systemsBusiness process expertise desired in the areas of Accounting and Billing, Finance/Controlling, HR/Benefits/Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Quality Assurance, Legal/RegulatoryExperience in business case development, requirements gathering and definition, gap analysis, process mapping, solution designAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environmentProven success as a business analyst, with demonstrated ability to facilitate discussion and build consensusAbility to produce quality requirements documents, process maps, use case diagrams. Ability to use various tools such as Visio and power point to graphically represent work flow diagrams, process flow and other information gathered.
