Senior Safety Methods Engineer

To support the design and licensing of reactors, the contract Senior Safety Methods Engineer will develop system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, perform steady-state and transient analyses, and collaborate across disciplines, with both onsite and remote work options available for exceptional non-local candidates. Key responsibilities Develop methods for Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses to support reactor design and licensing Perform system-level thermal hydraulic analyses and integrate closure models into existing frameworks Document methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with safety analysis workflows Required qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or complex energy systems Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D or GOTHIC Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior, particularly in advanced reactor designs Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation using Python or MATLAB
