Texas Medical Center
Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist
What we do here changes the world. UTHealth Houston is Texas' resource for healthcare education, innovation, scientific discovery, and excellence in patient care. That's where you come in.
The UT Health Houston Pediatric Movement Disorder Team is expanding.
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. This position involves evaluating and treating infants and children with feeding difficulties, dysphagia, and oral-motor delays, as well as providing support for communication and language development. AAC clinic experience is a plus. Our patient population includes children with movement disorders including Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, hydrocephalus, neuromuscular conditions, and genetic conditions amongst others. This position will involve program development, intensive outpatient therapy opportunities, research participation opportunities, and close working relationships with a dedicated team of specialists. This is a niche outpatient clinic model, looking to fill in gaps and not compete with our partners who provide regular outpatient therapies in the community. Experience working with medically complex infants and children (e.g., NICU graduates, G-tube dependent, neurological conditions) required.
Core Competencies:
· Passion for working with children and families
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Problem-solving and clinical reasoning
· Flexibility and creativity in treatment planning
· Team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach
Once you join us you won't want to leave. It's because we reward our team for the excellent service they provide. Our total rewards package includes the benefits you'd expect from a top healthcare organization (benefits, insurance, etc.), plus:
- 100% paid medical premiums for our full-time employees
- Generous time off (holidays, preventative leave day, both vacation and sick time – all of which equates to around 37-38 days per year)
