Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the ICU - Neuro specializes in providing advanced critical care to neuro and trauma patients in a Level II trauma NT/SICU unit. This role involves managing patients with complex neurological conditions and performing specialized interventions to support recovery and stability.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neuro and trauma patients, including those with ICP monitors, lumbar drains, and CRRT.
• Administer medications and therapies tailored to critical neurotrauma cases, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system, maintaining compliance with hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to other units such as Cardiovascular, Telemetry, ICU/CCU, or Med Surg as needed to support staffing needs.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding neurological conditions and ongoing treatments.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 5 years of acute critical care experience in a hospital setting.
• Hold a current California RN license and valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate experience with EPIC electronic charting system.
• Have prior Level II trauma critical care experience, particularly with neuro and trauma patients.
• Previous traveler experience preferred, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in clinical settings.
