We seek an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer to design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products. Utilizing your knowledge and experience you’ll have the opportunity to design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.What you will be doing:Preparation and implementation of Quality Plans based on the internal Quality System and Custom RequirementsSupport tailoring of processes to meet Program requirementsMonitor build and test activities to ensure compliance to Quality Plans, Customer Requirements, and approved GDMS processes to ensure the proper level of control in place and maintained.Ensure proper and effective records of the as-built product configurationMonitor and participate in the Deviation and Engineering Change processes to ensure proper change management and transfer to manufacturing is completed in an effective mannerMonitor nonconformances and apply root cause analysis problem solving to countermeasure known systemic defectsPerform Program-specific audits and surveillance to evaluate the programs compliance with processes, quality plans, and customer requirements.Participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes and monitor supplier performance to identify supplier development opportunities.Collect and report quality metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunitiesLead systemic defect investigations and root cause/corrective action by working cross-functionallyImplement Quality System policies, procedures, and instructions as required.What you bring to the table:A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceFully proficient knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools, and standardsFully proficient knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.Fully proficient knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniquesWhat sets you apart:Experience in defense contracting or similarly regulated industries such as medical device, automotive, or nuclearAbility to speak to a specific example of leading a Continuous Improvement initiative with a cross-functional teamFamiliarity with AI tools such as Claude or equivalent platformsBackground specifically in electro-mechanical or highly technical products (note: candidates with exclusively chemical or laboratory backgrounds will not be considered)Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options: This position is fully onsite in Canonsburg, PA.Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
