Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Project Manager with industrial building and energy experience managing design teams for Power Generation projects. for one of our offices in Austin TX, Denver CO, Muscatine IA, Chicago IL or Remote. This includes managing all activities related to large generation projects such as: project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality, and financial performance on large, complex, and challenging projects.

Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing:

• Lead the planning and implementation of medium to large multiple discipline engineering projects with various stake holders ranging in complexity and utilizing resources from multiple office locations
• Support business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development
• Review assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points
• Form a project team and see that responsibilities are assigned, and the execution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule
• Submit documents to federal, state, and local authorities for code compliance review and obtains permits required
• Meet with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion
• Maintain a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts
• Plan, organize, communicate, and coordinate project engagements
• Manage the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and the various Project Stakeholders
• Prepare project opening orders, project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closings
• Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive Project Records
• Achieve project performance metrics established for the engagement (i.e. target margins, revenue, multiplier, etc.)
• Analyze project performance, resource utilization, profitability, margins, and revenues
• Identify potential out of scope work. Manage and negotiate contract change orders
• Identify and manage project risk from the proposal phase through the duration of the project
• Has fundamental understanding of key commercial elements associated with Energy projects
• Train, mentor, and oversee other Project Managers and conducts/participates in portfolio and project reviews

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in engineering, construction management, or business from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 15+ years of increasing experience in the Energy Engineering Industry with a minimum of 10 years in project management
• Experience in Thermal Generation projects such as Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Reciprocating Engines and BOP design
• Firm understanding of PMP Principles
• Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing large multi-discipline programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects
• Outstanding time management skills
• Experience in Design Bid Build, Design Build, GMP, and EPC project delivery methods

Required Skills

• Industrial building and energy experience managing design teams for Power Generation projects
• Ability to manage all activities related to large generation projects including project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements
• Business development skills including project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development
• Project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and staffing
• Client relationship management and stakeholder coordination
• Project performance analysis including resource utilization, profitability, margins, and revenues
• Risk identification and management from proposal through project duration
• Time management and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification

Pay range and compensation package
