Meredith Insurance Agency is looking for a motivated insurance professional who wants more than just another sales job. This is an opportunity to enter the Farmers Insurance Protégé Program, develop the skills needed to operate a successful insurance business, and work toward becoming a Farmers Insurance Agent and agency owner.

As a Protégé, you will work directly inside an active insurance agency and receive hands-on experience in sales, customer relationships, lead management, retention, cross-selling, agency operations, and business development.

The goal is bigger than becoming a great producer. We are looking for someone who wants to learn how to BUILD and eventually OWN an insurance agency.

Farmers Agents may also have access to brokerage opportunities through Kraft Lake Insurance Agency, a Farmers company, subject to eligibility and carrier requirements. This provides the opportunity to represent Farmers while also having access to additional insurance markets when appropriate for clients.

Responsibilities

• Sell Auto, Home, Life, Commercial and other insurance products

• Work agency-provided leads and develop your own book of business

• Contact new leads quickly and consistently

• Prospect for new customers through phone, referrals, networking and other business-development activities

• Quote, present and close insurance opportunities

• Cross-sell additional products to new and existing customers

• Follow up consistently with prospects who have not yet purchased

• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships

• Learn customer retention and account-development strategies

• Maintain accurate lead, sales and customer information in agency systems

• Meet established sales, activity and production expectations

• Participate in sales coaching, training and performance reviews

• Learn the financial and operational side of running an insurance agency

• Develop the sales, leadership and business-management skills necessary to work toward becoming a Farmers Insurance Agent and agency owner

Requirements

• Active Arizona Property & Casualty Insurance License

• Active Arizona Life & Health Insurance License

• Strong sales and communication skills

• Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with prospective customers

• Willing to prospect and generate business in addition to working agency-provided leads

• Competitive, motivated and goal-oriented

• Coachable and willing to follow a proven sales process

• Strong follow-up and organizational skills

• Comfortable being held accountable for sales and activity expectations

• Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team

• Professional attitude and strong work ethic

• Entrepreneurial mindset

• Serious interest in eventually owning and operating an insurance agency
