SALARY: $19.16 to 26.82 (commensurate with experience) Hourly rate increase pending ratification of CBA.

HOURS OF WORK: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Monday to Friday (8 hours per day)

BUILDING: Black River Elementary

Job Duties:

Sweeps, vacuums, mops and washes floors and stairs;

Uses heavy mechanical equipment in stripping, waxing and polishing floors;

Dusts chairs, tables, desks and other furniture;

Polishes furniture and brass;

Empties wastebaskets, collects and disposes of trash;

Arranges chairs and tables and other equipment for special use of building;

Moves furniture, supplies and equipment;

Cleans windows, walls, bath fixtures, equipment, and furniture;

May load and unload trucks;

May operate clothes washer and dryer in laundering of linens, etc.;

Performs custodial tasks as needed.

Requirements: Must have working knowledge of common cleaning, disinfecting methods, materials and equipment; skill in the use of cleaners and maintenance equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion; ability to get along well with others; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks; willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and grime; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
