HR Generalist

This role operates in a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The successful candidate must be comfortable handling confidential information, responding to employee inquiries, supporting HR compliance requirements, and providing exceptional customer service. The position requires collaboration across departments and business units while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion, and accuracy. The Human Resources Coordinator plays an important role in supporting employee engagement, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring an efficient and compliant HR function. Serve as the primary contact for employee HR queries, inquiries and concerns. Conduct employment and background verifications. Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, promoting a positive employee journey. Onboarding of new hires in the company HR systems ensuring a seamless integration process. Offboarding employees from the systems, complete exit interview and ensure company assets are received. Facilitate vendor setup, prepare & pay HR invoices, coordinate payments timely and efficiently. Support college relations initiatives Supporting employee training programs. Maintenance of Electronic Employee files using company systems and SharePoint Maintain and utilize HRIS systems to track employee data, generate comprehensive reports, and optimize HR processes. Develop, monitor, and analyze HR metrics and report on absenteeism, headcount, and workforce planning. Update organizational charts and employee records, providing robust backend support. Aid recruitment efforts by sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, Collaborate with management on employee relations and workplace policy development. Ensure compliance with employment and labor legislation and internal protocols. Provide payroll and benefits administration support. Maintain accurate HRIS records and leverage systems to enhance HR operational efficiency, with preference for UKG experience. Lead HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys supporting employees, solving problems, and improving processes. This individual is comfortable balancing day-to-day HR administration with strategic projects and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting employees across multiple locations. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience. Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, benefits administration, payroll support, and HR compliance. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and workforce data. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience working with HRIS systems and payroll platforms, including SAP. Preferred Qualifications Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms. Experience supporting a multi-site workforce. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification is a plus. High level of professionalism and integrity. Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset. Collaborative team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves and support all aspects of HR. Expected salary range: $75,000 - $80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Must be local to the Linden, NJ area. No relocation assistance available.
