SEO & AI Search Strategist [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO & AI Search Strategist based in the United States.

This is a forward-looking search strategy role at the intersection of traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven discovery systems. You will help enterprise B2B clients improve visibility not only in search engines like Google, but also in generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. The role combines hands-on SEO execution with strategic client leadership, requiring both analytical depth and strong communication skills. You will work across technical SEO, content strategy, and structured data while also shaping how brands appear in AI-generated answers. Operating in a fast-evolving digital landscape, you’ll be expected to anticipate shifts in search behavior and translate them into actionable strategies. This is a client-facing, highly consultative role where your insights directly influence visibility, traffic, and business growth.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead integrated SEO and AI search strategies for B2B clients, ensuring strong visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging generative platforms. You will act as a strategic advisor while also guiding execution across technical and content initiatives.

• Develop and execute SEO and AI search (GEO) strategies aligned with client business objectives and growth targets
• Serve as the primary client contact, leading strategy discussions, reporting, and performance reviews
• Conduct technical SEO audits, keyword research, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities
• Optimize on-page content, internal linking structures, and CMS implementations (primarily WordPress)
• Design and implement structured data and schema markup to enhance AI and search engine visibility
• Monitor and improve client presence in AI-generated search results across platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity
• Translate analytics insights into clear recommendations using performance data and experimentation

Requirements

This role requires a strong foundation in SEO combined with a modern understanding of AI-driven search ecosystems. You should be both technically capable and strategically minded, with experience managing enterprise clients.

• 3–5+ years of experience in SEO, digital strategy, or web optimization with exposure to generative search evolution
• Strong understanding of AI search behavior, including RAG concepts and conversational query systems
• Expertise in semantic SEO, entity-based optimization, and structured data implementation
• Proficiency with GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and enterprise SEO tools such as SEMrush or Screaming Frog
• Experience managing multiple enterprise B2B client accounts simultaneously in a consulting or agency setting
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic technical SEO considerations for development teams
• Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) for search monitoring and workflow support
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategy
• Preferred exposure to healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries is a plus
