About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience in specialty License: Registered Nurse license (Alabama or Compact license) Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross Must-Have: Willingness to float to other units and hospitals Description: The Trauma Surgical Unit is home to acute care trauma and surgical patient populations. Nurses in this area have a 1:6 patient ratio. Staff members specialize in an interdisciplinary team approach to address each patient's specific needs. The unit's nurses are experts in trauma as well as orthopedic and urology patients. The unit values collaboration with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and various surgical specialists. Staff provides individualized attention to all patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, or observation. Education required: Associate degree in nursing. Experience required: Minimum 2 years preferred. Will consider 18 months of experience with the highest level of professional license, provided there is 1 year of recent specialty experience. This position is patient-facing and clinical in nature. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Dress code: Solid navy scrubs. Guaranteed hours can be either 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holidays required.
