Entry Level Mechanical Engineer

Harris Group is looking for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers on a variety of industrial applications. This opportunity will be based in Harris Group’s Portland officeand will require travel to jobsites in the area intermittently. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in Mechanical Engineeringwho can take into account the greater picture of systems as a whole. Relevant systems and subjects include, heating & cooling water piping, HVAC ductwork and & handling systems, pneumatic systems, thermodynamics, manufacturing process support systems, and control systems. Responsibilities Serve as a technical resource on complex designs and advance engineering theories, concepts, principles, and processes. Perform calculations for the design of mechanical new and existing mechanical systems. Perform mechanical design, working with other members of the mechanical staff, and coordinate with other disciplines on specific projects. Produce and interpret design drawings. Coordinate design with vendor supplied equipment. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0 - 3 years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects. Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs. Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter with a strong work ethic. EIT certification a plus. Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Benefits Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
