Job Description

As a Forklift Operator, you will utilize a sit-down forklift to efficiently move products through the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for counter-balancing products, using RF scanners, unloading products into coolers, and utilizing a reach truck to load products up to three rack storages high. Additionally, you will load and unload trucks in the bay area and utilize computer systems and email for basic functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to maneuver products within the facility.
• Counter-balance products using forklifts.
• Use RF scanners for inventory management.
• Unload products into cooler environments.
• Utilize a reach truck for loading products three racks high.
• Load and unload trucks in the bay area.
• Perform basic computer functions and manage emails.
• Engage in cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and debris removal tasks.
• Comfortably work in cooler temperatures ranging from 26-28 degrees.
• Handle raw meat products with care.

Essential Skills

• Experience with sit-down forklifts.
• Proficiency in operating reach trucks.
• Material handling expertise.
• Familiarity with RF scanners.
• Foods manufacturing and cold storage environment experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Counter balance experience.
• Packing and unloading skills.
• Pallet jack operation.

Work Environment

The work environment is a cooler GMP setting, maintaining temperatures between 26-28 degrees. Employees must adhere to safety regulations, including no nail polish, jewelry, piercings, fake nails, embellishments, fur, or loose items. Hair must be tied back and beard nets are required. Jackets and boots will be provided. Employees will work around raw and cooked meat and poultry and will receive training on GMP guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Holland, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in South Holland,IL.
