A&P MechanicThis role focuses on performing heavy maintenance checks and modification work on B737 and A330 commercial aircraft within a large MRO hangar and shop campus. You will complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, C checks, and cabin modification projects, primarily within systems areas such as engines and flight controls, with the potential to support other specialized teams based on your skills and experience. You will work in compliance with FAA regulations and maintenance manuals to ensure aircraft are returned to service safely, efficiently, and on time.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications, and overhauls on commercial aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and approved maintenance manuals.Execute heavy maintenance work scopes such as C checks and cabin modification projects on B737 and A330 aircraft in a large MRO hangar environment.Remove, install, troubleshoot, rig, and functionally test aircraft flight control systems, including ailerons, elevators, rudders, spoilers, flaps, and associated mechanical components.Conduct engine removals and installations, perform operational checks, and troubleshoot powerplants while ensuring proper system integration and adherence to airworthiness standards.Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, lubrication, and mechanical systems that support engine and flight control operations.Perform comprehensive C checks and heavy check tasks, ensuring all discrepancies are accurately documented, corrected, and properly signed off in accordance with regulatory requirements.Utilize aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM), illustrated parts catalogs (IPCs), engineering drawings, service bulletins, and other technical data to complete maintenance tasks accurately and safely.Complete detailed maintenance records, work orders, and logbook entries while maintaining compliance with FAA Part 145 repair station procedures and internal quality standards.Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and equipment to perform installation, repair, drilling, and structural tasks as required by the work scope.Collaborate closely with inspectors, leads, engineering personnel, and fellow technicians to meet production schedules, uphold safety standards, and ensure aircraft are returned to service on time.Participate in orientation and safety training, and consistently follow all safety procedures and best practices in the hangar and shop environment.Adapt to assigned shifts and overtime requirements to support heavy maintenance schedules and operational needs.Essential SkillsMinimum 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, preferably on commercial aircraft platforms.Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.Demonstrated experience performing heavy maintenance, including C checks and major inspections.Proficiency in aircraft systems troubleshooting, including engines, flight controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, lubrication, and mechanical systems.Ability to remove, install, rig, and functionally test flight control systems and related components.Experience using aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM), illustrated parts catalogs (IPCs), engineering drawings, and service bulletins.Capability to complete accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, and logbook entries in accordance with FAA Part 145 procedures.Proficiency with standard aircraft maintenance tools, including installation and repair tools, drilling equipment, and structural tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift and remain open to shift assignments as determined by operational needs.Ability to work overtime (10–20 hours per week, as needed) to support heavy maintenance schedules.Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in an MRO environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a heavy check MRO hangar or repair station environment.Experience performing maintenance and modifications on B737 and/or A330 aircraft.Familiarity with cabin modification projects in addition to systems and engine work.Ownership of a basic set of hand tools appropriate for A&P maintenance tasks (tool list provided).Comfort working within structured quality systems and production schedules.Interest in a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent career move.Why Work Here?You will join a large, established MRO operation that offers exposure to complex heavy maintenance projects on major commercial aircraft platforms, providing a strong foundation for long-term career growth. The role begins with a structured first-week orientation and safety training, typically running from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (occasionally concluding by Thursday). After orientation, you will transition to an assigned floor shift, which may be either 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., scheduled Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Regular overtime of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week is typically available to support heavy maintenance schedules. You will use standard aircraft maintenance tools, technical manuals, and shop equipment while working in a structured, safety-focused repair station environment that emphasizes quality, teamwork, and adherence to FAA Part 145 procedures.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
