CDL A Truck Driver

Truck Driver/Furniture MoverAmerican Furniture Rental (AFR) is looking for an experienced Truck Driver & Furniture mover for our warehouse in Houston, Texas.Please apply only if you have a CDL Driver License Class A experience driving a straight 26 feet truck. Clean background and driving records. Able to pass pre-employment Drug Testing (12 panels). DOT Medical Card is needed by FMCSA regulations or able to obtain the DOT card prior to hiring. We believe in fostering a positive and engaging workplace where our team members can grow and succeed.Basic Function: To complete assigned deliveries and pick-up of merchandise and assist with shipping and receiving responsibilities.Responsibilities:Operate company vehicle in a courteous and professional mannerComply with traffic and DOT laws & regulationsProtect product utilizing materials such as Furniture pads and other materials supplied by AFRDeliver, Install, & Pick up merchandise from warehouse/vendors/customers in a timely manner with attention to detail.Read, comprehend and complete all paperwork associated with the jobComplete Pre/Post Trip inspections to ensure delivery vehicles are in good working condition.Ensure customer messages/communications are relayed to appropriate management.Assist with other tasks within the warehouse to include lifting and carrying cartons or Furniture as directedPerform other related duties as assigned.Maintain a tool kit that is provided by AFR.Be available to work flexible shifts without an end time.Receive a floorplan and instruct and execute the delivery with other helpers.Record and report start and end time at each stop for productivity purposesWipe down & touch up furniture as needed at each deliveryKeep truck organized by properly storing equipment and folding furniture padsDirect helper as needed to ensure team is providing unparalleled customer serviceSkills:Ability to read, write and comprehend EnglishCustomer relations and customer service skillsAbility to lift to 75 pounds, climb stairs, bend and be physically active for extended periodsAbility to use basic tools such as screw drivers, cordless drills etc.…Math aptitude, organization and reading skillsEducation/Training: Degree: High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience: Prior driving/moving experience helpful.Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver's license- must meet insurance underwriting requirements. Pass dot physical.
