Payroll Specialist
Steel Dynamics
SDI's Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist. Responsibilities Managing and processing payroll weekly for 700+ employees. Communicating with all levels of management and all employees regarding pay and benefits. Preparing and analyzing reports in UKG payroll software, as well as Excel. Processing voluntary and involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments. Maintaining confidentiality of employee information. Writing, proposing, and posting journal entries. Reconciling general and subledger accounts by gathering and balancing information. Maintaining accounting controls by following policies and procedures in addition to complying with federal, state, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Supporting accounting functions as needed. Special projects and additional duties as assigned. Qualifications At least a 4-year degree in accounting or business (or related experience). High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to execute and follow through to completion and documentation.
