POSITION DEFINITION

Temporary Water Distribution Operator I is an entry‑level position, training status requiring immediate to general supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Learns to perform tasks for maintenance and operation of water distribution system. Learns proper use of tools and equipment required. Under direction, participates in installation, repairs and replacement of water mains, services, valves, fire hydrants and meters. Interacts with customers and represents the company. Performs meter reads, ons and offs and field investigations. Performs collection activities of delinquent accounts. Participates in routine maintenance activities such as system flushing, valve exercising and fire hydrant maintenance. Under direction, follows established policies and procedures for repair of equipment. Operates company vehicles and equipment according to established safety procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Available for emergency response, 24/7.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.
