PRN Program Technician - SHARE Military Initiative

About the Position The Program Technician assists team members in caring for patients through implementation of patient treatment plans within the respective department, focusing on community re‑entry, life skills activities, routine activities of daily living, and meeting behavioral needs of patients. Job Responsibilities Guide and monitor patients (adolescent, adult, and geriatric) in planning/simplifying tasks and in performing life skills. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, transfers, and meal preparation. Supervise patients on individual life‑skills outings and repetitive cognitive retraining tasks. Assist team members or independently perform lifts, transports, activities of daily living, transfers in any location of the program, passive range‑of‑motion movements, and wheelchair mobility. Maintain all equipment in safe working conditions and report broken or faulty equipment to supervisor. Maintain therapy areas and equipment for cleanliness, prepare them for each treatment session, and clean up at the end of the day. Coordinate and perform patient and department‑related administrative tasks (scheduling, patient documentation, etc.). Participate in departmental meetings and in‑services as requested. Instruct new employees and volunteers in departmental maintenance tasks. Perform bivalve splint fabrication for both upper and lower extremities as applicable. Initiate and complete special assignments as requested. Participate in educational opportunities to advance knowledge and skills related to professional development. Practice proper safety techniques per Center and departmental policies and procedures. Report employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to supervisor via the occurrence notification system. Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies related to area of responsibility. Identify potential risk areas within area of responsibility and support problem‑resolution processes. Required Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma. Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record. BLS certification within three (3) months of hire date. One year of previous health‑care experience as CNA or therapy/program technician preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Completion of orientation and initial competency assessment by the specified due date. Completion of mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements by the specified due date. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a four‑year college or university in a health‑related field. Physical Demands Uses body, tools, or special devices to safely, effectively, and efficiently move, guide, or place patients. Involves some latitude for judgment regarding precision attained and the selection of adaptive devices. Ability to transfer and position patients consistent with lifting up to 50 lb. Working Conditions Potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
