Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to an adult and geriatric population on a Cardiac Stepdown / Overflow IMCU unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio on a 32-bed unit
• Manage and administer continuous IV drip medications including cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
• Monitor and manage cardiac arrhythmias including stable A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia; assist with cardioversion as needed
• Care for patients presenting with CHF, chest pain, DKA, PE, DVT, COPD, pulmonary edema, post-cardiac cath, and surgical conditions including chest tubes and biliary drains
• Utilize TR Bands and provide care within the Med/Surg scope as applicable; float within the facility within scope of practice as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication using SBAR methodology and electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a valid Compact state license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown or related RN experience; first-time travelers not accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV drip medications (cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, insulin drips)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and experience with arrhythmia management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Experience with vascular, orthopedic, or CVA patient populations in a stepdown or IMCU setting
• Familiarity with post-cardiac cath care and TR Band management
