Traveling Low Voltage Technician (Based In Florida)

MCS is looking for experienced Low Voltage Technicians to lead our small-site integration package (Access Controls, Security, Fire, CCTV, Communications, etc ... ) Task Order installations.

This position requires travel to sites for installation, testing, and client training of systems.
*** A Secret Clearance will be REQUIRED for this role. ***
2 locations available to be based from : Tampa, FL ( HQ ) or Panama City, FL
Working at these locations on current packages, while waiting for Traveling Assignment Task Order. These are potentially located at various Military Sites in the U.S.

Travel and Lodging will be covered while on Task Order Assignment.

The Low Voltage Cable Technician must demonstrate their adaptability by being able to install multiple types of devices. Reading prints and following the directions and assignments given to them. The Low Voltage Cable Technician will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Typical duties include:

• Installing, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
• Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
• Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices. Comm room build-out.
• Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
• Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
• Following and maintaining proper safety practices

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
Certification Requirements:

• BICSI Certification Desired

Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years in a Tech Role
• 2+ years' experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging. Nurse Call, Sound Masking.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%
• Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in high places and in confined places.
• Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites. Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required.
• Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.

Work Environment

• Work assignments may vary based on client requirements.
• Work may be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
• Work may be performed in the field. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy, or windy climates.

Schedule

• Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory.
• It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
• You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.
• This position may require night and weekend work and could include travel to areas with varying field conditions.

Physical Requirements

• May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
• Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations. Will be required to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Equipment and Machines

• General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
• General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment.
• This position may require the operation of motor vehicles as an essential job function. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial. Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position. Safety is of utmost importance, and adherence to traffic laws and company policies governing the use of motor vehicles is mandatory.

Travel

• Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel.
• A current passport is required for Overseas travel.
