Senior Network Engineer

Role Summary Sompo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and support of network technologies across the organization's global landscape. This role emphasizes network security, next-generation connectivity, and high availability. The ideal candidate will provide Tier 3 operational support, lead complex troubleshooting, and ensure consistent network performance and reliability across enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure across global environments. Provide Tier 3 support and perform advanced troubleshooting for all LAN/WAN issues and alerts. Configure and install a variety of network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS. Conduct network maintenance and upgrades, including service packs, patches, and security configurations. Monitor and analyze network performance, availability, and capacity trends. Maintain documentation for all network systems, configurations, and procedures. Adhere to change and configuration management policies to ensure proper governance. Implement and enforce security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the information security team. Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve escalated issues efficiently. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for after-hours network support. Conduct technical training sessions for internal IT resources. Perform administrative tasks such as time entry, reporting, and participation in incident/change management meetings. Technical Qualifications 5-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and support. CCNP certification required. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly. Strong experience with: Routing & Switching: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel Security: Cisco ASA, Firepower (FTD), IPS, Cisco ISE, VPN (IPSec/SSL/Cisco AnyConnect), AAA, TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x Wireless: Cisco WLC (preferred) Load Balancing: Citrix NetScaler or other enterprise load balancers Cloud & Data Center: AWS, Azure, GCP (plus); Cisco Nexus 9K/7K (ACI preferred) SD-WAN: Silver Peak (preferred), Aruba SD-WAN (plus) Firewall Cloud Services: Zscaler (preferred) Protocols: TCP/IP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, QoS Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus devices, NX-OS, and IOS environments. Experience supporting applications such as SAP, Citrix, and enterprise portals. Strong analytical skills for interpreting performance metrics and recommending improvements. General Qualifications Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface effectively across teams. Team player with excellent collaboration and documentation abilities. Self-motivated and proactive in resolving issues and improving systems. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies. Capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
