About the Role
This custodial position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within university buildings and grounds. The role supports daily facility operations by performing custodial tasks, routine preventative maintenance, and assisting with special events to ensure facilities are clean, orderly, and welcoming. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on cleanliness standards, safety procedures, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial duties to keep university facilities clean and sanitary, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to established standards and safety procedures
• Support preventive maintenance tasks related to building cleanliness and basic facility upkeep
• Assist with special events setup and breakdown as needed, ensuring facilities are maintained during events
• Maintain organization and management of custodial supplies and equipment
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment while handling chemicals and cleaning tools
• Inspect facilities to identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance attention and report issues to supervisory staff
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, standards, and safety procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting
• Proven organizational and time management skills
• Physical capability to perform custodial tasks including lifting and moving supplies

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills
