Regional Engineer

Position Overview The Regional Engineer serves as Lane’s technical expert on Lane products, working with the engineering community and technical agencies to promote Lane Enterprises’ products to agencies, engineers, contractors, and other customers. The successful candidate will service Northern Virginia, Richmond, Tidewater, Maryland, and parts of North Carolina markets and support surrounding areas as needed. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers and agencies to expand usage criteria for Lane’s drainage products. Partner with Lane’s Sales representatives to enhance their technical knowledge of the products and guide them in effective promotion strategies. Instruct contractors on proper installation methods and corrective actions for faulty installations. Identify new business opportunities and product applications for Lane’s current offerings. Evaluate potential new products for compatibility with Lane’s existing products and manufacturing capabilities. Lead approval processes and submit alternatives for inclusion of Lane’s products in project applications and engineering design firms. Plan and present at sales meetings. Support the development of brochures and other marketing materials that promote Lane products. Assist in identifying potential new sales representatives and regional engineers. Provide technical assistance within the company as directed. This is a hybrid position: part of the role can be performed remotely from home, while the remainder requires travel throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Northeast North Carolina territories. A company vehicle will be provided, and food and lodging expenses are covered during travel. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field Previous civil engineering and stormwater experience Professional Engineer (PE) license 3+ years of experience in a related field or in sales Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent sales and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical products to non‑technical audiences Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Proficiency with MS Office Suite or related software Base salary range: $86,000 – $110,000 per year.
