The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is determined by state and Federal officials that employees are allowed to report to the workplace where this position is located, on a regular basis.ResponsibilitiesThe Messaging Operations Services Section (AIF-341) plays the critical role within Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) Division providing product management of the O365 enterprise email, instant messaging, and other collaboration services.This Section:Manages the lifecycle of the Microsoft O365 products, to include but not limited to working with the vendor to troubleshoot and resolve associated service degradations and outages and implementing service upgrades and new features and products.Works closely with Security Operation Center (SOC) to assist with and provide information for security incidents.The incumbent of this position will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist in the Messaging Operations Services Section. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:Communicate the organization's vision and objectives.Serve as a front line supervisor at the Section level assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work.Monitor and evaluate yearly performance reviews, approving Time and Attendance (T&A).Ensure staff are appropriately trained, supported and informed.Coach and develop employees; recommending or approving corrective or disciplinary actionsResolve routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit.Oversee, track, and provide consultative services to aid development teams in remediation of security vulnerabilities, POA&Ms, and other application security defects for all Messaging Services managed systems.Responsible for System Ownership for FAA Information Systems, which incorporate multiple AIF, managed assets, both on premise and cloud based systems.Responsible for developing, implementing, assessing and maintaining the appropriate system-level information system security controls in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NIST 800-53 (as amended), federal government-wide laws regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.Providing expert advice, counsel, and instruction to management on user and application authentication issues to support missions and achieve goals and objectives.Collaborate with IT Security (AIS) in developing policies, plans, and procedures to ensure the continued reliability, security and accessibility of AIF managed systems for users and data infrastructure across datacenter and cloud environments.Responsible for leading the Messaging Operations Services Team through planning, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, financing, and contracting support oversight. Additional responsibilities include interaction with the Legal, Employee & Labor Relations, and Communications organizations. Responsible for ensuring messaging contract support invoices are validated to be accurate in a timely manner.Responsible for coordinating and managing resources for O365 product operations, maintenance, and migration activities. Responsible for ensuring the successful integration of existing services/technologies during the lifecycle of messaging services. For example; OneDrive, SharePoint, Bookings integration with Teams and future messaging operations services by providing leadership and oversight to the FAA SME’s while collaborating w/DOT SME’s within this area as well as identifying and resolving issues in this area.Responsible for developing and managing a messaging services team information portal that enables collaboration and cooperation between internal and external employees and customers including DOT counterparts.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
