The Registered Nurse (ICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in a short-term acute care hospital setting. This role involves managing patient care with a focus on intensive care unit (ICU) protocols, ensuring patient safety, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse is expected to maintain high standards of clinical practice while adhering to hospital policies and dress code requirements.

This role involves managing patient care with a focus on intensive care unit (ICU) protocols, ensuring patient safety, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse is expected to maintain high standards of clinical practice while adhering to hospital policies and dress code requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to ICU patients, including assessments and monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions and care provided.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols specific to ICU settings.
- Participate in block scheduling and float between units as required.
- Support patient and family education regarding care and recovery processes.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year ICU nursing experience.
- Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 in the ICU.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Compliance with hospital dress code: solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar acute care environment.
- Familiarity with short-term acute care hospital protocols and procedures.
- Previous experience with block scheduling and floating between units.
- Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period.
- Block schedules are approved based on unit needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ICU environment with critical care patients.
- Compliance with hospital uniform policy; print tops are not acceptable except for designated units.
- Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor surface lots.
- Work schedule includes block shifts with weekend requirements.
- Shifts are assigned based on unit needs and may include floating between units.
- 48-hour shifts are approved when necessary.
