Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Part-Time

Location: Lake Charles, LA

Schedule: Part-Time (approx. 16 hours per pay period)

The Opportunity & Impact

As our sole Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Lake Charles site, you will play a critical role in providing continuity of care. You will have the clinical autonomy to manage patient recovery pathways while collaborating with a dedicated, multidisciplinary clinic team.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Patient-Centered Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, history of present illness (HPI) assessments, and design personalized treatment plans for individuals navigating recovery.
• Progressive Monitoring: Document and track patient milestones, adjusting care plans seamlessly in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator and Treatment Center Director.
• Empowerment & Education: Counsel patients on their treatment journey, helping them understand their progress, and provide essential health education regarding medication management.
• Advocacy: Act as a compassionate guide, addressing the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of substance use disorders to help patients achieve long-term recovery and an improved quality of life.

What We Are Looking For

• Licensure: Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) / Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) license in good standing with the state of Louisiana.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 months of dedicated experience in addiction medicine or a strong foundational knowledge of drug rehabilitation and the disease of addiction.
• Clinical Insight: Strong understanding of various substances of abuse, including the clinical signs and symptoms of detoxification.
• Background: Ability to successfully pass a standard drug screen and criminal background check.
