Deputy Project Manager

We are seeking a capable and organised Deputy Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, you will help ensure that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards. Your responsibilities will include assisting with project plans, programmes, budgets, risk registers and progress reports; coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers; and monitoring project performance against agreed milestones and deliverables. You will help manage meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, track actions, and provide clear updates to stakeholders. The role will also involve identifying and escalating risks, issues and changes, supporting the assessment of their potential impact, and helping to implement effective mitigation and recovery plans. You will contribute to maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring that relevant governance, compliance, health and safety, and quality requirements are followed throughout the project lifecycle.


Applicants should have experience supporting or managing projects in a structured environment, with a sound understanding of project management principles, reporting processes and risk management. Strong organisational, communication and prioritisation skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships with people at all levels. You should be confident using standard project management and office software, able to interpret project information, and comfortable working to deadlines in a changing environment. A recognised project management qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous. Most importantly, you will be proactive, dependable and collaborative, with a practical approach to delivering results and supporting the wider project team.
