Research Engineer / Quantitative Research Engineer

A leading quantitative trading firm is seeking experienced Software and Research Engineers to join teams building the core technology that powers quantitative research and systematic trading.

The focus is on solving difficult engineering problems at scale: improving how researchers access data, run experiments, simulate markets, distribute compute and move successful research into production.

What You'll Work On

• Building large-scale distributed systems and research platforms used directly by quantitative researchers
• Developing infrastructure for data processing, simulation, backtesting and large-scale experimentation
• Improving the speed, scalability and reliability of research workflows across large datasets and compute environments
• Designing systems that help researchers move successful ideas from experimentation into production
• Building robust production software where performance, correctness and resilience are critical

What You'll Bring

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, particularly around systems design, data structures and algorithms
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related quantitative field
• Experience building complex, scalable or distributed software systems
• Strong programming ability, with Python particularly relevant
• Engineers from C, C++ or Java backgrounds are also strongly encouraged to apply
• Ability to reason about complex systems and make thoughtful engineering trade-offs
• Strong ownership mentality and an interest in working closely with highly technical research teams

Previous experience in quantitative finance or trading is not required . These teams actively hire engineers from technology companies, infrastructure teams and other technically demanding environments.
