TITLE:

Bus Aide

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment physical, fingerprint-based background check, and Employment History Review.

-Ability to work well with students, including those with disabilities.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Transportation

JOB GOAL:

To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
• Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
• Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly manner.
• Provides written records of violations of the student code to the bus driver.
• Collects and turns over to the bus driver those personal items left on the bus by students.

Note: The responsibilities may include other duties as assigned, as the responsibilities listed above represent a majority of the tasks, though not an exhaustive list.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Part-time, up to 30 hours per week on school days when children are in attendance. *May include summer school. Institute days as requested by the administration.

EVALUATION:

One written evaluation per year and every other year after three consecutive years of employment. Evaluations completed by the Director of Transportation.
