PURPOSE:

We are looking for an IT Lead with strong communication skills and a passion for providing superior customer service. As the IT Lead, you will be the first point of contact for any peripheral’s connection issues needed to support the business applications adequately and securely. Your strong project and time management skills will be required, for efficient and effective coordination with the programming group to troubleshoot any system issues or system improvements. You will provide technical expertise and support for all users in using and accessing applications. In addition, this position provides PC user support functions as needed.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Plan, implement, monitor, and support all aspects of Network Systems.

· Patch management (Windows, Linux, VMWare Servers, workstations, and appliances).

· Manage user profiles, security, output queues, remote printing, job queues, etc.

· Troubleshoot problems and provide timely and quality resolutions.

· Analyze and monitor data security and recommend and implement corrective actions.

· Support change management, manage and test system backup, disaster recovery, and peripheral

connectivity.

· Provide technical expertise and training to peers and users as needed.

· Management of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments.

· Management and support of network camera system.

· Maintaining Microsoft SQL databases.

· Provide first level management and support of Asterisk-based VOIP system, including the

configuration of endpoints.

· Provide first-level support on enterprise and Cargo System solutions.

· Management of corporate wireless infrastructure.

· Coordinate with web developers for website changes.

· Travel to group head office in Jamaica may be required when necessary.

· Direct and remote management of systems.

· Other duties as assigned by management.

circumstances.

· Must be familiar with industry specific computer software programs.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES:

· Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Windows 2012-2019, and

Windows 10.

· Hands-on knowledge of Linux-based distributions.

· Working knowledge of VMWare/Hyper-V.

· Experience with scripting and automation tools (Powershell, Bash, and Python).

· Working knowledge of Cisco switches and firewalls.

· Extensive knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to mid-range computing

environments, including hardware architecture and operating system software components.

· Thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Office 365, Anti-malware programs, and backup and

recovery technology.

· Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and

resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.

· Working experience with network printers, wireless scanners, and portable PCs.

· Strong verbal/written communication, project planning, and coordination skills required.

· Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or

upgrades of IT infrastructure.

· Excellent user service skills are a must.

· Ability to occasionally work evenings/weekends and provide on-call support for off-hours.

· Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and

related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
