Engineer/Principal Engineer - Survivability (El Segundo CA)

CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 25% of the Time Engineer/Principal Engineer – Survivability Location: El Segundo, California. The Survivability Engineer will enhance the survivability of defense systems through advanced materials and processes. This position requires full‑time on‑site work at our facility with no remote or telework options. Essential Duties Develop and integrate advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum. Develop, implement, and test predictive analysis codes; build and test physical models; design, develop and build test and verification equipment; and develop, test and integrate specialty materials. Work closely with engineers from other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft. Basic Qualifications Education and Experience: Engineer (LV2): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience. Principal Engineer (LV3): 5 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline, or 3 years of engineering experience with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline, or 1 year of engineering experience with a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline. Applied electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability or comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials. Experience in CAD software such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX. Ability to obtain and maintain a current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (or equivalent continuous evaluation). Any required program access must be obtained within a reasonable period. Preferred Qualifications Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with CAE/FEA tools (e.g., FMS, Patran, Cubit). Experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics codes such as Xpatch. Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python or other technical languages. Knowledge and use of RCS data processing tools such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer. Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance and/or prior SAP/SAR clearance. Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $101,000.00 – $151,400.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $125,300.00 – $187,900.00. Potential overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for senior positions.
