Join the Colorado Springs Marriott team as a Food Runner, Expo, and Busser. In this combined role you will be the critical link between the kitchen and the guest, ensuring every dish reaches the right table at the right time and in perfect condition. About the Role As a Food Runner, you manage food transport and timing. As an Expo, you perform quality control at the pass, inspecting every dish. As a Busser, you maintain the dining room’s pace by clearing, resetting tables, and assisting servers. Your communication, speed, and attention to detail directly impact the guest experience. Responsibilities Food Running Run food from the kitchen to the correct tables and seats in a timely and efficient manner. Memorize table and seat numbers for the dining room and bar to deliver accurately. Communicate clearly with servers and kitchen staff about ticket timing, course pacing, and special requests. Serve guests beverages, bread, and butter at the start of service, creating a warm first impression. Follow proper standards and etiquette for room service deliveries when applicable. Complete the opening and closing side‑work sheet accurately every shift. Expediting (Expo) Inspect each dish before it leaves the kitchen for presentation, temperature, completeness, and correct ticket. Communicate directly with the kitchen team on ticket timing and course flow. Coordinate timing across multiple tables to ensure courses arrive together. Manage communication between kitchen and front‑of‑house during service. Flag any quality, portion, or presentation concerns and work with the kitchen to correct them quickly. Keep the expo station clean, organized, and fully stocked. Bussing Clear dirty table settings quickly to maintain pace. Reset all service‑ware promptly and consistently. Maintain stock and cleanliness of service stations for all meal periods. Transport dirty tableware to the dishwashing area promptly. Assist servers with any tasks that contribute to guest satisfaction. Practice Clean‑as‑You‑Go and support a teamwork‑first culture. What We’re Looking For A genuine team‑first attitude and willingness to support teammates. Ability to move quickly, stay organized, and stay composed during high‑volume service. Clear, confident communication with guests, kitchen staff, servers, and supervisors. Sharp eye for detail, especially for quality control. Positive and professional demeanor in all interactions. Flexible availability for shifts, including weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, split shifts, and holidays. No prior restaurant experience required; training will be provided. Qualifications Previous experience in restaurant, hotel food and beverage, or customer service environments is a plus but not required. Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, kitchen staff, and team members. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a high‑performing team in a fast‑paced environment. Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism and care. Stand, walk, and move at a brisk pace for the full shift. Carry food trays and transport tableware safely. Comfortable with bending, reaching, and sustained physical activity. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Marriott brand. Physical stamina to maintain a sustained pace during busy service periods. Physical Requirements Active, on‑your‑feet role for the full shift: standing, moving continuously, carrying trays and tableware, and working at a sustained pace.
