Position Summary

As a Dishwasher, you'll play an essential role in supporting our kitchen and restaurant operations by keeping dishes, cookware, utensils, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and ready for service. You'll work closely with the kitchen team to maintain sanitation standards, keep supplies moving, and help ensure a safe, efficient environment throughout every shift.

Responsibilities

·        Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

·        Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.

·        Keep the dish area clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter throughout the shift.

·        Properly sort, store, and return clean dishes, utensils, and cookware to designated areas.

·        Maintain an adequate supply of clean dishes and kitchen tools during busy service periods.

·        Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.

·        Empty trash and recycling and maintain clean waste disposal areas.

·        Sweep and mop kitchen, dish, and back-of-house floors as assigned.

·        Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces.

·        Monitor dishwashing chemicals and supplies and notify kitchen leadership when items are running low.

·        Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely according to company procedures.

·        Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing deliveries when needed.

·        Support kitchen team members with basic prep or cleaning tasks as assigned.

·        Complete opening, side work, and closing duties thoroughly and on time.

·        Uphold The Sandbox's standards for cleanliness, teamwork, professionalism, and food safety.

Qualifications

·        Previous restaurant, kitchen, or dishwashing experience preferred but not required.

·        Dependable, hardworking, and able to maintain a steady pace throughout the shift.

·        Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.

·        Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

·        Ability to follow directions and established cleaning procedures.

·        Ability to remain focused and professional during busy service periods.

·        Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and willingness to help others.

·        Ability to safely operate dishwashing and basic kitchen equipment.

·        Reliable transportation.

·        Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·        Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Previous dishwashing or back-of-house restaurant experience.

·        Experience in a sports bar, casual dining restaurant, or entertainment venue.

·        Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

·        Experience operating commercial dishwashing equipment.

·        Food Handler Certification preferred but not required.

·        Positive attitude and commitment to supporting a clean, efficient kitchen team.
